ROBERT E. BOSSO

Summary of Practice
Bob's primary areas of practice are civil litigation advice, alternative dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration), real estate, general business advice, and water law. He was one of the founders of the firm of Bosso Williams Firm in 1989 having been a partner in the predecessor firm of Adams, Levin, Bosso, Sachs & Bates. A native of Santa Cruz, he has practiced for over 50 years and includes among his clients many long established Santa Cruz businesses and individuals. He currently represents three separate County Water Districts serving as District Counsel for the Soquel Creek Water District for over 45 years.
In recent years, he has been asked to serve as a mediator and arbitrator in cases where other attorneys are representing clients.
Bob was selected by the Superior Court as one of the first two pro-tem judges to handle settlement conferences. He is also been a hearing officer for the State Bar of California on fee arbitration cases for over 30 years.
In 2007 he was selected as one of the top attorneys in Northern California by San Francisco Magazine.
For over 40 years he has been rated AV (highest rating) by Martindale Hubbel, national rating based on client and peer ratings.
Professional Organizations
Bob is a member of the Santa Cruz County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the State Bar's Small Firm and Civil Litigation sections. In addition, Bob serves as a member of the Association of California Water Agencies Legal Affairs Committee. He was a Lecturer in Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz for over 20 years, teaching Law in the Business Environment to Economics and Legal Studies majors.
Community Involvement
Bob has been involved in numerous community activities including serving on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity, Santa Cruz Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Boys & Girls Club. In addition, he served five years on the Santa Cruz City School Board of Trustees and has been involved in school fund raising activities. He is a past President of the Santa Cruz County Bar Association and was been a member of the Santa Cruz Toastmaster organization for over 40 years. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Cruz, having served on the Board of Directors, the Scholarship Committee, and as President from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, and currently serves on the Speech Contest Committee. He and his wife Susan are active members of Star of the Sea Catholic Church where he chairs the Endowment Committee.
